Beautiful.ai vs Gemini Notebook
A plain-English comparison to help you choose between them.
A deck tool paired with a grounding tool, and the question between them is where the facts come from. Beautiful.ai assumes you have the content and need it to look right, applying design rules automatically so slides stay consistent without manual formatting. Gemini Notebook assumes the opposite: you have the material but not yet the understanding, so it answers strictly from your uploaded sources with citations that jump to the passage, and builds overviews and study aids around them. Pick Gemini Notebook to work out what the deck should say; pick Beautiful.ai to say it, and expect to use them in that order rather than choosing.

Common questions
Can Gemini Notebook produce the presentation itself?
It produces briefing artefacts rather than a deck: audio and video overviews, mind maps, flashcards and reports from your corpus. It is explicitly a research and comprehension tool rather than a drafting environment, so the writing happens elsewhere. Treating its outputs as slides skips the step where someone decides what the argument is.
Why does source-grounding matter for a deck?
Because a slide strips the caveats. A claim that was hedged in the source arrives on a slide as a bullet, and nobody in the room can see what it rested on. Working from a tool with passage-level citations means the person presenting can answer the follow-up question, which is usually where an unsourced deck comes apart.
What limits each one?
Gemini Notebook is closed-world by design, so discovery belongs to answer engines and assistants, and grounding inherits your sources' flaws. Beautiful.ai's automated layouts trade control for consistency, and it is less suited to complex data visualisation or presentations built around unusual visual storytelling. Neither is trying to be the other, which is why the pairing works.
