Where does the specialist beat the generalist?
At the blank file it was built for. v0's output bias is the differentiator: idiomatic React on the stack many teams already ship, polished per component, deployable to Vercel in a click, which skips the scaffolding a general agent would be briefed through. Outside React and Tailwind the value drops by its own admission, and deep backend logic stretches it thinner.
Where does the generalist absorb the specialist's job?
Anywhere the front end is one thread of a larger change. An agent working the actual repository can carry the interface work alongside the API, tests and migration it belongs to, briefed once, which no component generator attempts. Claude Code's precondition is the usual one: clear briefs, review discipline scaling with delegation, and a paid plan since there is no free tier to learn on.
Do teams sensibly route work to both?
