Common questions
We pay for both stacks; do we need both AIs?
Possibly, and that is the honest answer. Copilot's licence pays back on document, mail and meeting work inside Microsoft 365; Slack AI arrives with your Slack plan tier and reads what Copilot never sees. The wasteful outcome is paying for either where the underlying corpus is thin, not holding both.
Which assistant covers our meetings?
Whichever platform hosts them. Copilot's meeting intelligence works on Teams meetings within your tenancy; a Zoom or Slack-huddle culture sits outside it. Slack AI covers huddle notes and the channel discussion around meetings rather than the meetings themselves. Map your actual meeting platforms before assuming either has you covered.
Where do the corpora genuinely overlap?
Barely, which is the comparison's real finding. Files, mail and calendar live on the Microsoft side; the running conversation, decisions in channels and institutional memory live in Slack. Each assistant is blind to the other's corpus, so the choice is less either-or than a map of where your knowledge actually sits.
