Common questions
Which produces the more trustworthy research output?
Perplexity, by construction rather than by cleverness: numbered citations to the sources actually used, and Deep Research built from hundreds of them. Its own caution is the right one, that citations lower the risk of invention without removing it. Mistral Vibe searches the web competently but is not built around making every claim traceable to a click.
Where does Perplexity stop being enough?
At creation. It is explicitly not a long-form tool: drafting, voice and extended reasoning belong to the general assistants, and its job is finding, verifying and structuring evidence. That is the natural handoff, and it is why plenty of people run an answer engine and an assistant side by side without either feeling redundant.
Does the jurisdiction argument apply to research too?
It applies to whatever you type, which is the part people forget. A research query about an unannounced product, a legal position or a named individual is itself sensitive material leaving the building. Where that matters, an assistant offering European residency and private deployment covers the research use as much as the drafting one, at some cost in citation rigour.
